FORMAT
1. For field events, if there are more than 12 athletes in any age division, a qualifying round may be held.
2. For track events, the number of heats will be determined based on the number of entries.
SPORT RULES

2. Following are the weights of the various implements to be used for each gender and age division:

3. The competitors must not wear clothing that could impede the view of the judge.
4. Athletes shall be permitted to use their own implements, provided they have been certified by the Track & Field Official. Athletes who wish to use their own implements shall agree to all certification procedures including but not limited to marking, impounding, etc.
5. Athletes must provide their own vaulting poles.
ENTRY REGULATIONS
1. Anyone age 50+ by December 31, 2027.
2. Age division is determined by one’s age as of December 31, 2027.
ASO MEDALS
Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place for each style within each age division.
*The 2027 Alabama Senior Olympics is NOT a qualifier for the 2027 National Senior Games. All qualifiers were held in 2026.
DOUBLE MEDALING
The Alabama Senior Olympics (ASO) is an open state and welcomes out-of-state participants. Out-of-state athletes are eligible to medal and do not take away medals from an Alabama resident.
If an out-of-state participant places in the top three of their division, they will receive the medal earned. The ASO will then award medals to the top three Alabama athletes.
